Bill Hunt Sep 13, 2009 10:55 AM (in response to Kent Purdy)Kent,
Please give us the details of these files that were Exported via AME. Also, I assume that they were Imported as Timelines in En. Is that correct?
Good luck,

Kent Purdy Sep 13, 2009 11:42 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks for reply,
I opened EnCs4, Made a timeline, Imported 3 m4v files(h2.64 forBD) from PPCs4 AME , imported 3 wav files to be encoded in En. I then moved each file manually one at a time to the timeline. As 2 of the m4v files showed up on the timeline a white line appeared just above the green file, and below the GOP lines.
Also while Im asking, once in a while I will get pink colored files when I drop them on the time line. Not in this project though.Just wondering what the pink means. Thanks

Out of curosity, what happens if you do 3 separate Timelines, one for each m4v and its respective WAV file? Any differences?
Good luck,

4. Re: White line in Encore Cs4
Bill Hunt Sep 13, 2009 1:13 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)Also, would it be possible to post a screen-cap showing this white line? Hint: use the little "camera" icon in the lower-middle of the edit screen's Toolbar.
Just want to make sure that we're talking about the same thing here.
Good luck,
Hunt

JSS1138 Sep 13, 2009 1:37 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)Expand the timeline with the + key. You'll see what that white 'line' is.

Kent Purdy Sep 13, 2009 2:23 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)Hunt and Joe,
May have a clue, Yesterday I made BOTH a DVD and BD from the two files that are showing the white line.Overnight I encoded the third file and then added it to the timeline this morning, and saw what I thought was a problem. As of right now Im making a DVD(encoding in En) with all three files, to see if the third file gets a white line after the DVD encode. I did make 3 new timelines and still had the problem with the third file.

Kent Purdy Sep 13, 2009 3:12 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)To All that may read this,
There was no problem after all.As soon as the DVD transcode finished, and wrote the Iso and I clicked on OK. En drew the white line accross the top of the last file.
Still wondering about the pink colored file I see once in awhile. Any thoughts.
Thanks Kent

Yeah. Those are the I frames. They're normal. The 'line' is only a buch of small tickmarks squished together.

Glad that you got it sorted.
As for the "pink" files, where do you see these? In the FlowChart, there are many color coded notations.
Good luck,

The actual file laying on the timeline is pink instead of the usual light green. It seems like it must have something to do with the unseen attributes of the file. Maybe someone will recognize this behavior. Have you ever seen anything other than green on the timeline in EN.

That blows my theory. To answer your question, I have not seen this, but then I do every Project the same exact way. They are all SD Projects, and I also Export from PrPro as elemental streams - one Video-only DV-AVI Type II and one Audio-only AC3 (for DD 5.1 SS). I seldom do the Transcoding/Export from PrPro, so my Projects, regardless of how intricate the navigation is, are quite simple.
Maybe someone else can comment on the "pink" files. I cannot, as I have never seen such.
Good luck,
Hunt
