Hi again.

      If I have a datagrid colun set up like the following:

      <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="solddate"
                      headerText="Date"
                      itemRenderer="mx.controls.DateField"
                      rendererIsEditor="true"
                      editorDataField="selectedDate"/>

      How do I flag the data variable

      data.isModifiedClientSide = 1

      if they select a different date?

      I tried a different approach but to no success:

              <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn id="valueDate"  editorDataField="selectedDate" dataField="valueDate"
                           headerText="Value date" width="80" rendererIsEditor="true">
                          <mx:itemRenderer>
                              <mx:Component>
                                  <mx:DateField

                                      <mx:change>
                                          <![CDATA[
                                          this.data.valueDate = event.newDate;
                                          this.data.isModifiedClientSide = 1; //used to check through data and update server
                                          ]]>
                                      </mx:change>
                                  </mx:DateField>
                              </mx:Component>
                          </mx:itemRenderer>

                      </mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn>
