Buzz81 Sep 14, 2009 10:59 AM (in response to P Spier)I am just trying to change the width of the column in the table, which appears to be inside the frame (I'm a newbie and am not sure of the terminology). I don't care about the guide lines, just the column width. Sometimes when I grab the edge of the column it lets me drag and change the width, but usually it moves the entire column instead of changing the width.

P Spier Sep 14, 2009 1:55 PM (in response to Buzz81)Ah. We're talking about a table.
You need to use the text tool, as I'm sure you already know. What you are doing sounds like it should be working, so it may be a case of pressing a modifier key while you are dragging. Pressing Opt (Alt) while dragging will create a new column. What exactly is happening to you?

6. Re: Can't change column width - it moves the column instead
Petteri_Paananen Sep 14, 2009 10:09 PM (in response to 33 Steps)You can also set the width of table column by
1. selecting it first (just take you cursor to top of column, it turns to arrow that points down, clic then and you will have whole column highlighted)
2. Now you can give a new numeral value for width to Control panel or Table panel, which you can find from Window>Type&Tables>Table.
