I have a text block that I need to set the orientation to vertical. However, when I have the text block selected, and go to the text menu > orientation, the four options that are there are greyed out, so that I can't select them. Any reason why this is happening? What am I doing wrong? Please help!
Those commands are for aligning text on a path. You can change the
orientation of a regular text block in the Property inspector
I don't know what you mean by property inspector. I am very new to this application and I don't see anything that would align my text vertical in the properties box below my project. Please tell me how I can do this...
What version of Fireworks are you using?
In CS3, this control is in the Text Editor (select text, menu Text > Editor...) and is the bottom small button at the left of the block of text alignment buttons. I believe CS4 doesn't have the Text Editor any more (I'm still using CS3).
