I've filmed a wedding using a Sony Z1 in 16:9 but I have some footage in 4:3 captured by a old little handheld Panasonic GS10. I'd like to use some of that footage but I need to make that 16:3. I saw a thread a couple of days ago that had a good step by step guide in Pr beginers language when I was searching for something different but now, after an hour or so searching, I cannot find it again. Can anyone point me to a thread or offer some advice on the best (easiest) way to bring the Panasonic footage to 16:9?
Mixing the two is far from ideal. I suggest you capture the Z1 footage in a 16x9 SD sequence (downconvert in camera) and add the GS10 footage. Do not scale the GS10 footage to get rid of the black bars. It will only deteriorate the quality. Just accept it. Then export to DVD with a 16x9 format.
I cant find the thread but you can scale the Panasonic footage up with Magic Bullet instant HD, unfortunately its only for AE CS3.
