I've got a hand drawn logo I want to use on a photoshopped image. If I live trace it in illustrator and then live paint it, what's the best way to import it into photoshop for use? I'd like to do some advanced colouring and touching up of the logo in photoshop before scaling and positioning correctly on the original image, this would likely be via path shapes so I can retain scalability of the image.
What's the best thing to do?
I would try it two ways one place it as the ai file and two export from AI as a .psd
Well I thought that saving it as a .psd would be the best way to go, but when I looked as Save as and Export I couldn't see that file format anywhere... I could save it as a .pdf and a few other formats, but I didn't see the photoshop format.
If I copy and paste the expanded (and coloured) trace from illustrator, I'm given a few options when pasting into photoshop, smart object, pixels, path or vector (I think). None of them really seem to do what I want although smart object seems to be the closest but loses the vector aspect. If I do choose vector it loses all of the colours and there are some funny fills.
