    Applying Brush on Text

    Chris Yiu Level 1

I have tried to apply brush to texts to make them looks like hand-written. But the brush effect was only shown on the stroke. I googled the issue with no avail. Could anyone please help me? Here are the screenshot and the .ai file.

Brushes only apply to strokes in all cases. Or rather, they apply to paths.

If you want the brush stroke to be the character basis, you need to create paths for the skeleton of the stroke. This means you can not use the text tool. You should use the pen tool to create spines, then apply brush strokes to the spines.

The right way to do this is either purchase a font that looks like handwriting they quite a number of the available for purchase. Or you can slect the blob rush use a calligraphic brush and trace over the text.

            Like such.
