Consider this scenario:
User enters some information into a form(Or lets say we have some charts which i want in pdf format).Flex application needs to generate a pdf with the data entered and user can save it in local machine.
I guess this can be achieved in two ways:
1.Create the pdf with the data completely at the backend and send it to the client machine
2.Make use of alivePdf library and create it at the client side
Which would be better option in terms of development effort as well as efficiency?
AlivePDF is free but if you're generating a few pages with some bigger charts it will really tank on the clients machine.
ColdFusion as a back end works pretty well and provides you with a lot of PDF manipulation capabilities.
LiveCycle Data Services are the best thing i have ever used for generating forms, pdf and etc.
It really depends on what you're comfortable with
