Bill Hunt Sep 26, 2009 3:36 PM (in response to andyvisuals)Could it have gotten remapped by some other application? This has happened from time to time on PC's. Several folk on HP computers with Photoshop lost Ctrl-z, as some HP software remapped it to an HP Help screen. Stupid move HP...
Since it Cmd works with other keys, it's not likely as my problem some years ago - a smurfed Ctrl key on the left, the one I always use. New keyboard helped me, but does not seem to be a mechanical Cmd key issue for you.
Good luck,
Hunt

andyvisuals Sep 27, 2009 1:33 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thanks Jim. Just figured it out. Cmd+X had been changed to make highlighted text 'talk'. (probably me...and forgot to change it back after my "playing around with Mac OS X time...") Back to normal again.

Bill Hunt Sep 27, 2009 1:51 PM (in response to andyvisuals)Glad that you got it sorted, and that it's now working.
The remapping, that I mentioned in post #3 was about the only thing that I could think of, that would cause such behavior. Glad that it worked.
Now,
to make highlighted text 'talk'.
that's kinda' scary. Considering some of the text that I have highlighted, I'm not sure that I'd ever want such a "feature... "
Good luck, and thanks for reporting your success,
Hunt
