I am using Captivate4

Is it possible to add a mouse path if it is, for some reason, not recorded?

And is it possible to change the mouse path, the start and end point of the mouse path?

Hi there

Adding a mouse path is easy. There are multiple ways.

  • Click Insert > Mouse
  • Right-click the slide, point at Mouse and choose Show Mouse
  • Click Slide > Mouse > Show Mouse

As for the movement, you may typically only adjust both start and end locations on the first slide where the mouse makes its appearance. After that, normally the mouse start position is derived from where it stopped on the slide before.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your quick answer. However, when I try the first solution, Insert, the mouse option is disabled. Have you an idea why this is the case?

The other options is to show the mouse and not add one and than it is not possible to change the start position of the mouse path.

Hi there

Sounds like you have other slides where the mouse is visible. Slides before this slide. In this case your only option is to show the mouse. If you want to adjust both start and end locations, you need to duplicate the slide. Configure the mouse end location on the slide you duplicated to be where you want it to begin on the next slide. Then time the first slide super short. Perhaps .1 seconds (that's as short as you can make a slide)

During playback the mouse will follow its normal pathing until that particular slide. Then in the blink of an eye the position will relocate.

Cheers... Rick

I found using an "Invisible_Pointer.cur" for my mouse icon on some previous slide to work better than a 0.1 second duplicated slide.
