    are context-menus possible in Flex/Air?

Is it possible to create context-menus in a WindowedApplication in Flex?  Do WindowedApplications support that kind of desktop-GUI feature?

I am trying to rewrite a .NET desktop application using Flex Builder 3. The original app (a full-text search interface for ancient-language textbases) had a  context-menu attached to a text-input The context menu would present the users with a short list of frequently used special characters not found on the keyboard. If the user selects a character, it is inserted into the textbox text-value at the insertion point. I'd  like to offer the same feature in the Flex app, if it's possible.  The PopupMenuButton wouldn't work because the texbox loses focus and the insertion point is lost.
