    Change cell picture background

    Jim_Rehmann
I have a table that is divided into two columns (only 1 row). In the left cell I have a question with a "Submit" button, and in the right cell there is a background picture. What I want to happen is when the user answers the question and clicks the Submit button, the picture that's a background in the cell on the right is replaced with another picture (which is the same picture, but faded out to 10%). I then want the text saying "you're correct" or "you're incorrect" to appear overlaid on the faded out picture. I can do everything except figure out how to replace the background picture with a different background picture.

      How can I do it?

You would have to use server scripting or custom javascript to do this kind
of thing. Do you know any scripting languages?

Here is the definition of the cell:

            <td width="338" valign="top" background="../images/LEC_Q1.jpg"><div align="right"></div></td>

Does anyone know how I would use JavaScript to change it? I'm not too familiar with JS...

              Did you answer my question?

Also, we would need to see more of your code - like maybe the whole page?

Thanks for the info. I was able to log into a JavaScript forum and get somebody to give me the code there.
