Do you have button symbols? The 4 images are the different rollover states. they would be blank if you didn't edit them. The appended name with f2 f3 etc. is frame 2 frame 3 etc.
In CS4 it's called States not Frames. Open the States panel and you'll see the extra 4
In CS4 to edit the other states,
double click the symbol
Look in the property inspector and you'll see options such as the state, enable 9 slice etc.
In the States panel select state 2
In PI select copy up graphic
Make any changes and continue to state 3
If you have an older version of FW let me know and I'll get you a link i have to a tutorial
As I mentioned in my first post
I am new to fireworks and am working my way through tutorials. (this one below)
So button symbols and the states panel are all new to me .
I am just working my way through any tutorial I can find. and the above was my first
This is the only version I have but if you have a link to a tutorial I would love to use it
Thanks for answering my post I was beginning to think my question was to difficalt
OK http://tutorials2go.com/adobe_Fireworks_MX_2004_tutorials.htm and select "Button Editor"
These are older tutorials but it may help understand how it works. The main difference is that the button editor is not in CS4. Now the states (up, over, down over down) are edited in the property inspector.
Thanks for the link , The tuts are really helpful and they explain a lot of my questions.
They don't just tell you to select an option they tell you WHERE to find the option to select.
if you know of any more please let me know. I have picked up the odd helpful one from googaling.
Glad you liked them. I have a lot at that site for the older versions of FW. BUT the core tools haven't changed much. I really want to record new ones soon but I keep getting business which of course is a good thing :-)
