Okay, I tried searching the FAQs and this forum for the answer to this question, but I was not able to find one, so here it goes. I edit my videos in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and as soon as I import my video there is a black vertical bar only on the right side of the screen. It is indeed transparent, but definitely noticeable and annoying. It ruins the quality of my videos. It is not my camera, because I watch the videos before I import them to Pre7 (I'm not sure what the aspect ratio of my camera is, but it records in 720p hd), but as soon as the video shows up in the preview, there is the transparent vertical black bar on the right side of the screen. What's weird is that the bar is only there for videos, and not pictures. So what would be causing this, and how can I fix this?
Also, some of the answers from other questions are intimidating... all this codec mumbo jumbo LOL. Can someone explain this clearly. Thanks!
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, you posted to the FAQ section. Steve will move your post out to the main forum, so that others can comment on it.
In the meantime, tell us which Project Preset you used.
Next, use G-Spot to get the full details of your source footage from your camera. It is most likely a mismatch in there someplace.
Last, tell us if Scale to Frame is checked.
