I found the same one before posting. Assuming this is the quote you are referring to:
If you use compressed sources, convert the audio to PCM files (AIFF/ WAV).
For RAM previews, manually set the workspace duration to only the areas your really need
As I said, I'm using AIFF's already. The audio files I imported to begin with were AIFF's. They were changed from something else before they were given to me (.sd2? Digital Performer?) but I imported only AIFFs to my project.
I also RAM preview both short and long durations without difficulty. The error I'm getting doesn't occur during RAM Previews.
The error only occurs when previewing Audio only... that is, by hitting the period key on the numeric keyboard.
Any other suggestions?
Have you verified the file in an audio program? It may have an odd sampling rate, have meta data embedded or contain extra channels. At worst, simply open it in Quicktime Pro and save it again from there. Maybe just some oddness with the stream ordering....
