to create a multiwindow app in director, the basic formula is this
the stage holds the menu (if you want one) and whatever windows you want to have are made from MIAWs
ok, so if I want to have a background to the app I do this:
set the rect of the stage to the desktoprectlist
however, if the user clicks on the stage then the stage comes to the front.
if i put (the stage).moveToBack() on the exit frame script of the stage then that fixes the matter, BUT
there's an ugly flicker where for a split second the stage covered the other windows.
Is there a workaround/solution for this?
many thanks, Tollon
You can use 'the mouseDownScript' to send the stage to the back, or make your MIAWs #tool type windows, or use Buddy API to set your MIAWs to stay on top (baSetWindowState)
Sean, you make my life so much easier!
method 1 is perfect. Thanks.
I won't tell you how many years i've been fudging this issue!!
