if component is in different project and you link this projects you don't need a special link to different project. You use all components as it's in youe project.
MySearchDetail.as (or .mxml)
So in MySearchScreen:
<MySearchScreen ... xmlnc:c="myComp.*">
<MySearchDetail /> <!-- have the same ns as MySearchScreen if they are on one level - in src folder of projects -->
<c:MyBestSearchDetail /> <!-- have special ns if it's not the same folder -->
Thank you for your reply...
I'm trying to access the SearchScreen.mxml in the SearchScreen project file from the SearchDetail project.
Is this possible? I'm not accessing a mycomps folders, just the main application SearchScreen.mxml file.
Yes. it's possible. I've written the way.
If you use FB try to insert this component and choose your component from list. All namespaces will be created automaticaly.
Thanks for your help with this. I didn't realise there was an insert component from list option? Where abouts is that? I've had a look through the menu's but can't see it...
Perhaps if I did it this way I can learn from the code that FB3 automatically creates.
Then you begin typing (as a example):
appears a window with all components which name in beginning with "Butt"
Ah yes I know that, CTRL + Spacebar brings it up as well, cool.
OK, I've just tried typing <SearchSc and pressing CTRL + SpaceBar but nothing happens. It just seems to be looking in the curernt project.
Here's a basic folder structure of both projects incase I'm doing something wrong...
I've opened the properties of [SearchDetail] and linked the [SearchScreen] using Project References.
With the SearchDetail.mxml file open, I'm trying to insert the SearchScreen.mxml file as a component.
Natasha - thank you for your help with all this...
Maybe I've missed something?
referenced project should be Library (Flex Library Project)
Ah ok :-)
So I can't link two normal Flex Projects together, I have to reference in a Flex Library Project - Gotcha!
Thanks for your help!
