I've recently installed CS4, and I've just gotten around to using Flash. Unfortunately, there's a big problem. Only the background color displays while working on an .fla, no matter what you place on it. The .swf is fine, but it's not very useful without being able to see what you're doing. I've tried it with an existing CS4, CS3, and new files, and they all have a blank display. I haven't been able to find anything relevant to this, and it's really disconcerting to hit a dead end on the first try.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
change the title of your post to call the attention of Jen. she may be able to help you.
I have to admit, I cannot find an edit button.
I've discovered a few things, though. Reinstalling Flash reports an error which cannot be diagnosed by the Support Advisor. Also, a few files actually DO display properly in .fla, though I cannot find a connection between them. I'm now going to try completely reinstalling CS4. I've put in a ticket at Support, but no response yet.
your chances of getting a response are greater if you find jdehaan (aka jen). she's been responding to graphical glitches like this in cs4 for a while now.
these kinds of problems seemed common in macs and especially macs with more than 1 monitor.
