Sounds like you are on a Mac, so if the uninstallers do not show up in the main app directory, an excursion to Library:Application Support:Adobe might be worth a try. Failing that, you wil lstill be able to unregister CS3 apps using the CS4 Clean Utility and then properly delete the folders manually.
It is located as such Hard drive/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Add Remove (application Name) CS3
or use the Script if you use the script you should check the preferences/ the application folder the Application Support folders the cache folders etc to make certain all of CS 3 for that application is removed. The clean up script removes the license and data etc. so you might have to remove other parts manually.
Thanks-I had just spoken to my own MAC Pro person and he sent me this: "
To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications\Utilities\Adobe Installers. Authenticate as an administrator, then select Remove Components and follow the on-screen instructions."
It is the same as your suggestion I believe and it worked just fine. I did have to manually uninstall some components.
It is the same info andf your advisor has good knowledge good to know there are some out there.
I find that many installers and uninstallers leave a trail and once in a while it is the cause of corruption so I always take another look.
Thank you I shall tell him that.
