I am very new to premiere pro but have been using fcp for a couple of years so I am familiar with basic editing. I am not very expereinced with sound editing however.... I am working on a project where I need to sych an outside audio file to an existing video file. I have native audio but I plan to delete it once I synch the new track . The vidoe files are just under 2 G files and the sound files are 22MB. I need the 'dubbing' to be perfect. Is there an easy way to do this? Is there a proper name for this type of sound synching ? I have just been using trial and error but it isnt working to my satisfaction. Suggestions ?

Without identical timecode on both clips, or a proper slate, that is the only real method.
it isnt working to my satisfaction.
In what way?
