I'm designing a title with the shatter effect applied to give my title a slightly broken up and extruded feel. However I only want one frame of the shatter effect, yet I still want to keep the 3d. So I've created a precomp of my title with a camera, freezed the frame I want, collapsed transformations and set the layer to 3d.
I then parented the position, point of interested, and anchor point of my pre-compto the cam in my main comp and voila the camera responds and I've got full 3d - WOOHOO!
Except when I keyframe...
I set some keyframes and the pre-comp just doesn't respond - any ideas why?
You may need to link the camera in teh pre-comp to your main cam using simple pickwhip expressions. I understand what you are trying to do, but that functionality broke some time in the past or, to be more precise, never worked as expected to begin with. Can't remeber when and where, these days I realyl do prefer 3D programs for that sort of thing.
Hey - should have been more specific - I have used pickwhip expressions to parent the anchor point, position and orientation.
I would use a 3d program but I don't know how to.
