We develop online learning using Flash and our courses are offered within an LMS. Those who have downloaded the new IE8 browser experience the .swf files opening in a tiny window (approximately 2 inches across). This window will resise to normal when one clicks on the Compatibility Icon that is now at the top right of the Internet Explorer 8 browser (rectangle icon with a jagged line through it). Of course, we'd rather not have to instruct users to take this step but would rather that the online courses open normally as they always have in the past.
Is anyone else out there experiencing this resizing issue in IE8 and do you have any suggestions regarding how to fix it? Feedback would be much appreciated.
I am having the exact same issue. It is the same with IE 8 & 9. Online Flash courses developed for an LMS. Did you ever find a solution?
Are you referring to Windows 8?
I do remember Microsoft did announce IE will no longer support Flash as an embedded experience. It will forcibly pop the user out of the browser to view the content in a player plugin (basically calling that legacy support).
