I have thousands of images I need to resize and they are all different sizes. I need to resize them to 400X300. I was able to batch them in Fireworks MX2004 and using scale (fit into area) and export and I got 50% of the way there.
The issue is that my images are for use on an eCommerce site, so the images must be the exact specific width and height. When I scale, only one of the restraints are constant. How can I automate batching scaling down to fit into my canvas of 400X300 while maintaining aspect ratio but ensure my final canvas size (even ifit means I have white space behind the image...so the image is centered in the canvas...) exports at my exact size?
I did figure out how to batch to a specific size by inserting a command before exporting but my issue is now that my images arent centering on the canvas.
Any help would be appreciated. It's driving me crazy. I've already done 6000 images by hand...and have another 20k to do.
I don't know if this is helpful, but.... Rather than centering the image on an existing canvas, what about opening the image, then setting the canvas size to your desired dimensions? With the default anchor, the image automatically comes out centered.
Would that approach work for you?
