If the C: is any indicator you have only one disk drive. Is that correct?
The project resides on my C: drive, but I have tried from the C: drive of another computer, its D: drive, and even an external removable USB disc. The problem persists, and the path in the error message changes acordingly.
Now this is an update, and might help either in solving the problem or help others with a similar issue to circumvent it: If within the project manager window I check the Make Offline option, the process completes sucesfully. If the checkbox remains unchecked, it doesn't, even if the media has been "offlined" beforehand.

You are living dangeously. Nobody here runs their project of the OS/applictions drive. Adobe's minimum requirements are for two real disk drives and this does not include lousy performing USB drives.
I've experienced this too. The only work around I've found that succeeds is to change "Created New Trimmed Propject" to "Collect Files and Copy to New Location". It doesn't result in quite as tidy a project but at least it gets the job done.
