<mx:Form paddingTop="20" paddingRight="20" paddingLeft="20"> <mx:FormHeading label="Personal Information"/> <mx:FormItem label="Name"> <mx:HBox horizontalAlign="center" horizontalCenter="0"> <mx:TextInput id="p_firstName""/> <mx:TextInput id="p_lastName"/> </mx:HBox> </mx:FormItem>
This should put both text inputs horizontally and align them neatly in the center and aligned in the HBox.
Inside Form tag you could put an HBox and then add your FormItems to that HBox.
You said it right @Subeesh...
Here is a better solution
and this way you could make your swf lighter and less to render by not putting an HBox component like I previously mentioned and just add the direction property to FormItem
thanks very much.
Now i am using the HBox to layout my form.
The direcion attribute of FormItem is not for my situation becouse i need to align 10 formitems. Not just a label and inputbox inside a signle formItem.
Is there an easier way to achieve this? Maybe something like GRID or simmilar to html tables?
Aligning with HBox and Vbox a form with 10 items in 2 columns is too time consuming. Especially if you want the input boxes to be aligned each other.
