    Fireworks CS3 Exporting

Disclaimer: I'm a new Fireworks user

I have a website page layout created in Fireworks. When I export the file to HTML and images, I only get one large image even though there are many separate graphics and text. I do notice that all the elements are in one layer folder. Is that why? If that's the case, how do I get around creating a separate layer folder for every single element.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Open up Fireworks help and search for "creating and editing slices", which is one of the most powerful aspects of Fireworks.

You're going to want to assemble the sliced images that Fireworks produces by hand in Dreamweaver though - Fireworks isn't designed to produce production-quality code.

I have one large picture (550 x 500) and I want to have about 5 seperate links on it, but when I go to export my file I made with all of the links set it converts it into about 20-25 seperate files!! Why wont it export all as one image as it does when I preview my work? This is really driving me absolutely crazy.

Export the image without the image map (the links). Apply your hotspots and
                links in DW.

The HTML that FW writes for things like this is only suitable for
                prototyping, not for production.
