Library Folder Organization - State of Workflow Labels

One of the problems I face when using Adobe Lightroom (2.5 and prior) is that there is no way to label the state of processing of a particular folder in my library.

That is for example I cannot label a folder in my library whether I have processed it, in the middle of processing, or not. Having a way to do this without having to rename the folder with some obscure naming convention would be useful.

It seems like a fairly simple request of being able to mark it with a state label.

This could would most conveinantly be colors, though it might become confusing for some as I would not want it associated with the color image labeling.

A simple checkbox flag (true/false), or multi-field dropdown that could be something like (1,2,3), (Done, In Process, Pending), or a custom label configurable by the end user.

Optimally one could mark an entire folder and its subfolders as processed, or just the top folder and items not in subfolders processed so they each could have different states.

Along with this, being able to view items in a folder that are not contained in subfolders.

      I.e.

      ----Layer 1

          -File 1

          -File 2

          --Folder 1

             -File 3

             -File 4

                --Folder 3

                  -File 7

                  -File 8

          --Folder 2

             -File 5

             -File 6

That is.. I would have the option of viewing files:

             a. Files 1-8

             b. Files 1-2

             c. Files 3-4 & 7-8

             d. Files 3-4, 5-6, or 7-8

Each of these I folders I would then be able to mark a seperate processing status.
