When I create a vector shape (in this case a rectangle of about 600px wide and then use the pen tool to make a curved top) the curves are not smooth they look a little jagged/blurred - not as bad as hardline or feathered but not like I'd expect a vector curve. I am using 1px-soft with the edge anti-alias. I can get them to look slightly better by feathering 1px but I don't really want the blur of a 1px feather.
How can I get smooth vector curves in Fireworks?
You can try this: make the object 2 or 4 times your desired size, export to a flattened image, open the flattened image and reduce to 50% or 25%, appropriately.
That might work if I wanted a bitmap image but I'd like to see smooth curves while using vectors.
Seems strange that Fw seems to draw circles perfectively smooth but can't manage smooth curves via the pen tool.
Anyone else know why?
Apparently it's an innate flaw in FW but I don't recall anyone ever addressing whether or not it will or can be fixed. Which is strange, considering FW is on its umpteenth release...
