Did you have Flash Catalyst beta 1 installed previously?
If so, did you run the uninstaller? This has been a reoccuring issue.
If not, does anything in this thread help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/506768?tstart=0
Let me know if you're still having problems,
No, this was the first time I install Catalyst. I'm having the same problem trying to install Adobe Air and nothing works
it would be very nice if you share the log file. Please find the PDApp.log at ~/LibraryLogs/Adobe/PDApp.log.
can you please check the following folder permission and set the corressponding permission for specified user.
/Library/Application Support/Adobe - system/admin user - Read/Write Permission
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe - current user - Read/Write Permission
~/Applications - current user - Read/Write Permission
Also, what version of Mac OS are you running? Flash Catalyst only supports 10.5 (Leopard) and newer, and if you run the installer on 10.4 or older it will just disappear as you've described. (Pretty confusing, I know... we're working on it!)
Hi, I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8, on a new Macbook Pro. I was able to install it after I created a new account administrator, but when I go back to my original administrator log in it doesn't work... it only opens and there's nothing else that will let me do, more than confusing it's highly disappointing... so I gave up trying!!! Thank you anyways.
Can you be more specific? When you go back to your original admin login, are you trying to run the installer again? Or are you actually launching Flash Catalyst now that it's been installed under the other account? What do you see on your screen when you run it? Does a splash screen appear and does the main window eventually appear too? What do you mean by "nothing else that will let me do"? Are there options but they are grayed out? Is the window blank? Does no window ever appear?
