    Conditional Text and Bullets

    dpajewski Community Member

I just got CS4 today and I'm applying some conditional text. My first question is, can I add conditional text to a paragraph style? I have Instructor notes that I want to hide when creating the student guide. I am moving away from using layers so I can anchor the text boxes. My second question is, when I select the text to be conditional and then click to hide the text, the bullets still show up. Is there something I can do to make the bullets hide as well?

      Thanks.

Only if it's in the Paragraph Style menu. Is it there? Can't remember If not, you could always select the entire paragraph including its final hard return (a triple-click on the paragraph will do that) and apply the condition.

Yes. The bullets of a bulleted list "live" outside the plain text. You can't, for example, select them and apply a different font. They are part of the paragraph style. If you want the entire paragraph including its bullet to disappear, well, perhaps applying the condition to the entire paragraph works (see above). If not, you have to convert the bullet to plain text. Fortunately there is an option to do so.
