1. Re: CS4 slow to render why
Andrey V Oct 19, 2009 9:47 AM (in response to therayman)The rendering depends on speed of the hard drives and whether you are using one HDD for capturing and rendering on it, or if you are using different HDD for file output and different for captured video.

2. Re: CS4 slow to render why
therayman Oct 19, 2009 11:25 AM (in response to Andrey V)I have over 4TB of HDD in the machine in question and use one drive just for
capture another for rendering to and yet another for storing the material
and another for anything else etc I also have a separate system drive with
all the applications on it. They are all fast enough to run HD in real time
with no hiccups. I have no problem chucking enormous files about and
rendering from other software. Its only Premier CS4 that crawls. I have a
second boot on another drive with CS3 and that renders very fast in
comparison.

3. Re: CS4 slow to render why
Bill Gehrke Oct 19, 2009 11:36 AM (in response to therayman)Try running my Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 (version 4.1) BenchMark PPBM and email me the results. I will look at them and compare to the benchmarks on the web site and respond to you. There are two encoding benchmarks and one rendering the time line, from this we can see how effective your system is and if your system is well tuned.
