I have filmed some footage with a canon optura40, DV-NTSC format. When I capture these footage in CS4, the only capture formats I am being given the choice of are HDV or quicktime. HDV doesn't work (it is not an HD camera), so I chose quicktime, and in the sequence settings I chose Quicktime DV-NTSC. The footage thus captured are all pixelated and of really poor quality, both in Play back (in the source panel) or rendered. the format of the clip is mov (a quictime type I guess). How can I capture better quality footage? Thanks for your help.
Premiere doesn't alter anything upon capture (assuming clean video heads). Don't use the internal monitors for judging quality. They are for content monitoring only. Always use a properly calibrated external TV to judge quality.
