1. Re: Where is the De-interlace in Adobe Media Encoder CS4?
Colin Brougham Oct 20, 2009 5:02 AM (in response to jbandy)Deinterlacing is now automatically applied if the source and the destination differ as far as their field order is concerned. In other words:
- Interlaced source --> interlaced destination = no deinterlacing
- Progressive source --> progressive destination = no deinterlacing
- Interlaced source --> progressive destination = automatic deinterlacing
The Field Order option in the output setting determines whether deinterlacing is applied. Be sure to check the "Use Maximum Render Quality" option in the fly-out menu; it will take 4-5 times longer to render, but with better results.

jbandy Oct 29, 2009 10:23 PM (in response to Colin Brougham)Thanks, I don't see the fly out menu though when exporting to .flv I can't find the render at maximum depth.

dsladek Oct 29, 2009 10:54 PM (in response to jbandy)In the Export Settings dialog box, to the far right of the tabs "Filter, Video, Audio, Others", it is in a little hash looking box, click on the little down arrow
In there you'll see the option Use Maxium Render Quality.
After you've chased it down a few times, you'll get used to it.
Happy Rendering.

Editor Naama Oct 30, 2009 12:35 PM (in response to jbandy)For individual clips in the timeline you can right click the clip and hit "field options" and you get a few deinterlace options.
