I have a WINXP Home Edition SP3 PC on which Adobe AIR 1.5.2 is installed.
Any attempt to uninstall or update AIR results in the dialog:
Adobe AIR Setup
Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.
I am an administrator.
I have turned off all AV and protection software.
I have run the AIR uninstall or update from Windows and from a command prompt.
How can I uninstall Abode AIR?
Found that by using the Windows Installer Clean Up utility (msicuu.exe) and removing the entry for Adobe AIR I was able to reinstall AIR.
I missed an earlier post from Mar 22, 2009 9:36 PM - "Can neither upgrade nor uninstall Adobe Air". In that post the referenced solution was to "..find Adobe Integrated Runtime and click remove". In my case Integrated Runtime was not in the Installer Clean Up list.
Re: the original first question about being unable to uninstall (I am also an administrator and it won't let me do it) and I get the message shown above
The only dfference is that I'm on a G5 Mac using 10.4.11
Can anyone tell me how to uninstall Air from the Mac, even though I have adminstrator powers
Found my own answer of another forum
Go to HD > Library > frameworks
and delete Adobe AIR.framework
