I believe currently they have it locked out so you can't edit the code in Catalyst, it's just viewable. If you're looking to edit the code you can modify it in Flash Builder Beta 2.
Hope this helps
Thanks! I´ll check it out.
if youre running beta 1 you can edit the code by right mouse clicking a component and edit with HTML editor (i think thats what its called). the text then becomes editable.
annoyingly they've disabled the right click in beta 2. i really miss being able to edit the code myself!
I miss code editing in Catalyst, too. It was turning out that allowing code editing exposed the Catalyst UI to far more Flex power than we were able to digest for this release. That, and some novice users were accidentally breaking their projects without the ability to fix it...
I switched to Beta 2 in the hope that I could do the same code edits as before using Flash Builder. However they havent worked in quite the same way. Not sure whether its because I dont fully understand how the code works or Flash Builder treats code differently to Catalyst?
Any ideas on what I can do? I really need to be able to edit the code to make buttons within a CC change the state of another CC.

Code editing was always disabled - you found a loophole in Beta 1 that allowed you to edit code. Unfortunately, allowing the code to be edited introduces a huge amount of additional complexity to the workflow, so we decided to disable it for the first version.
For this version, the intention is for users to start projects in Catalyst, then take them into Flash Builder to finish them (including editing code). Let me know if that process isn't working for you.
I could see you altering code in catalyst could create more problems than it fixes, but it would be nice to have another loop hole, maybe add a little disclaimer like ¨change this at your own risk¨.
that´s just my oppinion.
