1. Re: Pasting word doc into interactive PDF.
Phillip Jones Oct 25, 2009 5:32 AM (in response to nogreydes)If a section break or page break was is used in the word document, It probably will loose formating when inserted into the pdf. If the person is using Word 2008, he would be better served to do Save As.... then saving as a PDF then merging the two document.
Adobe has never figured out since Acrobat first hit the market how to read Word's Page and sections breaks. Adobe and MS both blame Apple. However, Its a combination of Adobe and MS fault. Because the problem was there before OSX. OS9 and lower didn't use the acrobat PDF engine for diplay and printing. Instead of UNIX which OSX is with the apple interface added. OS9 was written in the C language (either objective-C, or C++) and used its own system for Printing and display. Technically even if it was Apple's fault, its Adobe's fault , as well - they supplied the engine to Apple, under a licensing agreement.
(Please note information is given by an Experienced User of Acrobat. I am not an employee of Adobe.)

MichaelKazlow Oct 25, 2009 1:04 PM (in response to nogreydes)What are you trying to do with pasting a Word file into a pdf. That is not the way to create high quality pdfs. Where are you pasting the word file into (a text field? as a comment or text?)

nogreydes Oct 25, 2009 6:10 PM (in response to MichaelKazlow)I am aware this is not the correct way to make a PDF. Thank-you.
My client has a designed page that is a PDF. In it I have put text fields for him so he can copy and paste whatever text he wants to, so he can have a good looking formatted document. He can only use word and likes using this 'interactive PDF.
In the document that he has typed up (in word), he has included a small table. When he goes to copy and paste from word into the PDF, the PDF keeps stripping the table out, leaving just the text.
Does anybody know how to get around this?

Phillip Jones Oct 25, 2009 6:37 PM (in response to nogreydes)Not unless the table could be created and saved as jpeg image then you could insert it as an image in the pdf then save the PDF. ??
