Everios, as far as I know, remain a challenging format to work with.
Unless someone has heard differently, we still recommend the workaround.
I chose the SD camcorder because I thought that I could eliminate the lengthy capture time. This, of course, has led to pandora's box being opened with the MOD file issues. What recommendations do you have as far as cameras. I full enjoy editing the DV-AVI files from the mini-DV tapes. I don't need a high definition camera. Are the mini-DV tape cameras the way to go? Thanks for your help.
For standard definition video, tape-based miniDVs are certainly the way to go, if you want to interface with a program like Premiere Elements.
Best news is that they're a steal now -- with older models and refurbs going for under $200 on Amazon.
Sonys are my personal favorite, with Panasonics and Canons not far behind.
