1. Re: Is Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 compatible with Win 7?
~graffiti Oct 27, 2009 12:41 PM (in response to WSplawn)The only version of Acrobat supported as being compatible with Windows 7 is Acrobat 9.1.
There's a few recent threads on this.

WSplawn Oct 27, 2009 1:34 PM (in response to ~graffiti)Thank youfor responding.
I understand "not being supported", but there may be a difference between that and "Will it work" under Win 7.
Does anyone know if it works? And also, one of the primary things I am interested in knowing is if just installing it will screw anything up in Win 7.
If there are other threads, will you point me to them?

Bill@VT Oct 28, 2009 3:28 AM (in response to WSplawn)Probably a similar result as with VISTA where a few folks have apparently been successful getting AA7 to work. However you may likely have to print to the Adobe PDF printer and possibly even use the print-to-file option. I think that AcroTray is part of the problem in VISTA.

4. Re: Is Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 compatible with Win 7?
WSplawn Oct 28, 2009 7:18 AM (in response to Bill@VT)Acrotray is a feature I've never used so perhaps this will not be a problem.
In the preliminary testing I've done, eerything seems to work the way I normally use Acrobat.
Question:
Is it likely that the install of Acrobat 7 will effect Windows 7 negatively? As of now I can do a" restore point", if need be, to take my system back to how it was prior to the install. But I would guess that it is not possible for the install to effect Win 7 too negatively. I am being perhaps overly caucious, but I would like to have things, with the install of this new OS, as clean as possible.
Thank you for responding.

WSplawn Oct 28, 2009 9:10 AM (in response to John T Smith)Thank you John. Tha was a good reference. I am aware of two other Windows 7 forums, one of them very active, the other not so active. This TechNet forum looks good. I've posted a message there. Thank you again.

7. Re: Is Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 compatible with Win 7?
Bill@VT Oct 28, 2009 7:41 PM (in response to WSplawn)If you have printed to the Adobe PDF printer as installed, you have used AcroTray. It runs in the background and enables Distiller to complete the processing of the PS file that the printer creates to give you the final PDF. When it does not work properly, you have to print to file and open the file in Distiller manually to get the PDF.
