My computer went down recently and i had to reload Photoshop CS2 ver 9 and I had to download Camera Raw plug in Ver. 3.7. Now when I
process a Raw file which is normaly a 54x36 inch image I now am getting a 16.2x10.8 image. I cannot find why it is reducing the file size. Any ideas????? Help
The "size" of an image is a combination of it's dimensions and it's resolution. While the dimensions can change, the odds are your resolution has been changed as well. The larger dimension is prolly at 72 PPI (pixel pre inch) and the smaller dimension is prolly more like 300 PPI. Camera Raw has the ability to change that as well as altering the pixel dimensions, check to see what the PPI of your second image is. If it's more like 300PPI then you just have a different ratio. If it's 72 PPI then you've done something to downsample the image.
Thanks Jeff, that was what was happening, I change to 72 in RAW and now all is well. Thanks again.
