Explanation of how multiple applications/windows work

      Hi all,

I want to create an application that has a login screen (currently a WindowedApplication), which disappears upon succesful login and then goes to a Window with a side panel and a main panel (split using an HDividedBox).

The main panel in the HDividedBox is going to have a lot of logic, so I was thinking about adding an ApplicationControlBar, but is it true that it won't dock to the top since it's parent container is a HDividedBox (and not an Application)?

I was thinking perhaps I could make the "main window" a WindowedApplication so that I could just have the ApplicationControlBar dock to the top of the whole thing, and allow it to control the entire HDividedBox as is. I was wondering if this is the best way to approach such a layout, because I'm still confused as to whether or not I can have multiple Applications within the same Flex Application, if I should use them, and if not, how to go around them since I need to share data between components. Thanks so much!
