setting the defualt editor to code inline

sorry all. i am SUPER NEW to Flex. I come from a deep AS background, so i am very excited about what i am already learning. QUESTION: how do i set the defualt editor to allow me to code inline...if i close a tag, Flex seperates my tags with space..i don't necessarily like that nor want it. I can't find where in the prefs i can stop that behaviour

You don't have to set any prefs. In the default editor, when you type this:

            <mx:Image source="{imageCollection[1]}",

if you follow it with '>', you will get a blank line, then the closing tag '</mx:Image>', as you describe.

But if you follow it with '/>' (type the '/' first), you'll get what you want.
