Considering Premiere Pro CS4-Will my hardware run all features?

I have an HP Pavilion d4990y, quadcore Q6600, 2.4ghz, 4gb RAM, Geforce 8500 with 512 mb, 32 bit, running Vista Hm Premium.  I have a 500 gb Sata 3.0 system drive, and a Seagate 750 gb SATA 3.0 dedicated video drive.  I have no RAID configuration in place.  I have read the system requirements for PP CS4, but they don't address quad core systems, and I'm concerned that I may not be able to properly access or run all features of PP CS4, especially with regard to High Definition and AVCHD.  I recently retired and believe that I'm ready to take on the learning curve of PP since I now have the time.  I have a good deal of experience with standard video editing - but that has primarily been only with Pinnacle's Studio products. This possible move, then, would be a big one for me, and I want to make sure I move up to a package which won't require me to change my hardware platform.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions from this forum.
