I published a SWF file and it looked great until I checked it on a computer that was running Flash Player 9. It didn't show up at all. Is there a way to save it in a compatible format? The IT people at the company I'm making it for won't upgrade to the newest player for at least a few more months. Any suggestions?
The SWFs generated by Flash Catalyst use the Flex 4 framework, which has many nifty features, but unfortuately also requires Flash Player 10. You won't be able to use Catalyst to create applications to FP9 or earlier. If you don't mind doing some coding, you could use Flash Builder to make a Flex 3 application that will run under FP9.
