Hi I would like to apply a PB filter to an entire flash movie. I am using flex 3 for development.
This article says you can apply a shader to a display object. I am just not sure how to apply it to the entire stage/scene/movie.
I am rendering some objects in Papervision3D, and my goal is to put a shader across the entire movie, similar to video game effects.
I think one workaround might be to save a bitmap of my rendered scene, apply the PB filter, and then display the bitmap on a 2D Plane. This seems complicated to setup and not very fast. I need to get this working efficiently, as I have fast moving objects in my scene.

Hey, I am not sure of the answer in Flex, however in Flash the answer is to set the root as a MovieClip and then apply the filter to it as in
var base:MovieClip = root as MovieClip;
base.filters = [myFilter];
