    Layout Question

    christie_sorenson

      I have a simple flex application with a header/footer/content/  I'd like the header and footer to always be on the screen and if the content needs to scroll, it does so in that region only while keeping the header and footer on the screen.  Here is a simplified version of what I have:

      <mx:VBox width="100%" height="100%">

        <mx:HBox width="100%" height="61">
              <!-- Header content -->
        </mx:HBox>

        <mx:HDividedBox width="100%" height="90%"  >

               <!-- Main Content -->

        </mx:HDividedBox>
        <mx:HBox width="100%" height="40">

               <!-- Footer Content -->

        </mx:HBox>

      </mx:VBox>

      Now, there is alot of content that causes the main region to scroll.  However, it also pushes the whole page down a little.  So that the footer is not seen on the page.  If I set the height of the content area to be a fixed height like 300, then the footer is not attached to the bottom, but right after the content block.  I obviously don't want to use fixed values because of different screen res.

      How can I do this?

      Thanks so much!
