1. Re: Missing required parameter ‘from’ for event ‘open’.
P Spier Nov 7, 2009 1:16 PM (in response to Big Jimm)Mac?
I believe this is caused by an invalid character in the file name or a folder name in the file path.
Supposed to be fixed in the 6.0.4 update.

Big Jimm Nov 7, 2009 3:02 PM (in response to Big Jimm)Thanks so much Peter.
I have CS3 5.0.4 and latest Mac. Is there any work-a-round to get this file open? It would be a LOT of work to do it all over again. I read something about resetting the Pram, but, I guess that wouldn't apply here ..?
I appreciate your kindness in responding, Peter. -
7. Re: Missing required parameter ‘from’ for event ‘open’.
P Spier Nov 7, 2009 3:13 PM (in response to Big Jimm)I'm not aware of the illegal character issue in CS3, but it could still be the problem. Look for forward or back slashes, :, #, *, %, ? or other odd characters in the name of the file or any folder containing the file or a higher level folder and if you find them, rename to remove.
Also, if you use the open command from the file menu after launching ID, rather than trying to launch from the finder it may help.

8. Re: Missing required parameter ‘from’ for event ‘open’.
P Spier Nov 7, 2009 3:19 PM (in response to P Spier)I googled the error message, and it's definitely there for CS3 and Snow Leopard, but the previous advice is correct.
