Installed PE 8 on a very fast Win 7 64 i7 machine with lots of storage. When I start it, it offers to allow me to take the tour of features, but does not allow me to start the program..it is "greyed out" sort of...out of focus.
Has anyone run into this? This is a new licensed copy I got at Best Buy.
There have been reports of problems running Premiere Elements 8 on 64-bit Windows 7.
You can try uninstalling the program and reinstalling to see if something just didn't take.
Otherwise, go to Windows Update and manually download all of the non-critical updates (which include the latest approved drivers) and go to Apple and get the latest version of Quicktime. If your computer is a Dell, go to the Dell web page for your system and get any other system updates are available. (Even a brand new computer is several months out of date.)
If this doesn't work, you may have to wait and hope third-party providers release 64-bit drivers that will work with this program (which may not appear until SP1 is released). sorry.
