I'm not sure what you mean. Can you send the exact steps you followed (starting from "created some text using this font...")?
It may be that your font is set differently in the repeated item's Normal, Over and Selected states.
I was caught out a number of times when first building components like this, check what state you are in, it will definitely be what Nate suggested.
You have to change the text in all of the components ststes.
Ok, let me explain it in more details. Started with an illustrator document, I created something style micro blog. The components of each repeated items include "title" (myriad pro 20pt), beneath that the "time" of the post (helvetica 10pt) and after that the text (arial 11pt).
Now, after converting the components to Data List it is still OK, but when I choose the "repeated item" option all fonts changes to same font (something like "Times") and same size.

I think I see what's going on. Try creating a different text object for each type of fomatting you want.
I'm guessing you currently have a single text with mixed formatting (and we don't yet support mixed-formatting for strings in a data list).
Yes. that is the case. when i separated the content to three different fields i had no problem.
