    Subtract shape from mask

      Hello all,

I'm trying to draw an image in MXML which is masked (which I can do no problem), but I would like a 'hole' in the mask, so it doesn't apply the mask at that point. For example if my mask is a square, I might have a circular hole in it, where the resulting image would not be shown.

I've tried experimenting with masking a mask which apparently doesn't work (using Gumbo), so I thought about the possibility or subtracting the circle from the square, but I can't figure out how to do this (if indeed it is possible).

Does anyone know how this effect might be achieved? Apologies if I've got my terminology a bit confused, just starting out with Flex (from a Javascript/HTML background).

      Thanks,

      Allan
