I was in the same boat as you, but I didn't have any experience with web design before. So far for me one the best resources out there is http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-fireworks-cs4/ . You have too the Total Training videos what is kind of ok.
But my only suggestion is that. Go slow. Don't rush to try to learn. FW is amaizing easier than other tools.
Thanks for your off-line response to my posting. My comments are below.
Just released today on CMX is my free article, listing all the Fireworks or Fireworks related articles written by CommunityMX authors. http://www.communitymx.com/abstract.cfm?cid=F159C Another Text option would be the Fireworks CS4 Classroom in a Book. I've released several free excerpts on CMX so you can get a feeling for the book. Fireworkszone..com produces a range of simple but informative free tutorials as well. HTH
I really appreciate your response. Since I made that posting, “lightning struck” here and things fell into place. With the help of some of those “white papers”, I have an understanding of the work flow. I am 73 and have short term memory issues especially when it comes to CSS, so I was really glad to see something that would generate a framework of code for me. My individual comments are in line.
